A large section of the National Parks in
Northern NSW, Australia form part of the
Central Eastern Rainforest Reserves of Australia. This is a protected
World Heritage Area and provides for some spectacular views, walking and
camping. Recently, while testing, we visited the following National Parks:
|
 |
- Dorrigo
- New England
- Oxley Wild Rivers
- Chaelundi
- Guy Fawkes River
- Nymboida
|
You can find more information
about the features and things do to in these parks by visiting the
NSW National
Parks & Wildlife.

Throughout the parks, there is an outstanding
variety of landscapes supporting a diverse range of flora and fauna. The
rivers running through these areas are often only accessible on foot,
although the Nymboida River has an excellent camp site driving west of
Grafton via Ramornie and is quite well known for white-water rafting.
Chandlers Creek in the Chaelundi National Park is a small river which is
inhabited with eel and other mountain stream fish. Accessing the creek is by
relatively steep 4WD-only tracks during dry weather. There are substantial
logging operations in the regenerated State Forests nearby, keeping the
roads well serviced. |
